Our staff

Shanthi Madapusi

Dentist - GDC no 100850

Shanthi joined us in 2016 to complete our team. In addition to the initial dental qualifications she holds MFDS RCPS from Glasgow and is very experienced, with 20 years of post qualification dentistry behind her. If we had to sum up Shanthi, it is that she is calm, kind and very competent. Shanthi fits the ethic of the practice perfectly, understanding that we're here for the patient, not for ourselves.

Claire Robinson

Dental hygienist - GDC no 3738

Claire has had a fascinating career to date, including teaching of dental hygienists. For us this really matters, as does her experience in teaching and assessing dental nurses. Claire has been very well received by our clientele. She is cheerful and smiley while simultaneously being thorough and gentle (a very difficult compromise to achieve). Claire moved from Kent to the better life 'up north' and we feel very privileged to have found her before someone else snatched her up.

Mike Fuller

Mike founded the practice but retired as a dentist after spinal surgery. He now fills the role, amongst other things, of Practice Manager and general dogsbody.

Mike originally qualified as a Dentist in 1983, from the University of Sheffield. He set up the Practice in 1988 in Anlaby, East Yorkshire and then relocated the Practice to the present site. In addition to his 27 years as a General Dental Practitioner, his experience includes five years as a Senior Dental Officer for adults with special needs, with emphasis on mental health and severe learning difficulties. He also has two years experience as a prison dentist, half treating Category A "life" prisoners and half treating "local" inmates. The ethos of the Practice originates from Mike's stance on care with humanity.

Mike's interests outside dentistry are many and varied. Mike was a Trustee of Hull InVitro Fertilisation Trust. until very recently. The Trust is a non profit making organisation that funds research into IVF. Mike has a problem with saying "no" to people and something eventually had to give!

He also has an interest in the local history of Hull and surrounding area. In addition, he's an Honorary Associate Member of Hull's Normandy Veterans Association and has a website of D Day photographs, to visit it follow this linkMike is a leading member and organiser of the Committee in charge of the Montgomery Freedom Flame in Hull. Mike's recent achievements include starting Liberation celebrations for the whole of the Netherlands for the past two years! This is in his Freedom Flame role, whereby he has responsibility to keep a Flame burning that was lit in 1948 by Field Marshall Bernard Montgomery. In addition to providing expertise in Health and Safety and Safeguarding, Mike is the Committee's webmaster.

Mike has the IOSH Safety Manager's qualification and PTLLS teacher training qualification and has lectured in Anatomy and Physiology in addition to Dental Nursing and Oral Health Education. Mike is now no longer a dentist due to ill health - nobody would want to be treated by someone with numb hands!

Sarah, usually found an reception, is in the tradition of experienced, cheerful dental nurses, who you can throw anything at and they can deal with it. There really isn't a great deal that Sarah hasn't done in dentistry, so if you need to ask something, she won't be phased.

GDC no 161660

Angie has been with us here at Hesslewood Lodge for 15 years as a continuation of her time with Penny Joseph. Penny brought her Elloughton dental practice to us in 2001 and then retired at the end of 2007. Angie has been qualified since 1990.

Katie joined us in 2015, having just passed her final examinations. You can spot Katie very easily, as she's the one with the ballet dancer's build, because that's exactly what she used to be!
